Punch Powertrain Solar Team participates in Monaco electric vehicles parade
Reaching third place in the iLumen European Solar Challenge (ESC) in October 2014 was the Punch Powertrain Solar Team’s ticket to ride in the parade that preceded the FIA ePrix Monaco Formula class E race on May 9th of this year.
The FIA Formula E championship is the highest class for electrically-powered racing cars. Only the top 3 from the European championship for solar cars may participate in the preceding parade through the streets of Monaco. The Punch Powertrain Solar Team’s partaking assisted thus in supporting the concept of solar car racing to a broader audience and raising public awareness.
In October 2015 the Belgian Solar Team is participating in the World Solar Challenge in Australia. With the Punch One solar car, the Punch Powertrain Solar Team hopes to be the first to cover the 3,021 km between Darwin and Adelaide.
