TATA AutoComp Systems Limited (TATA AutoComp) and Punch Powertrain signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022 to form a Joint Venture in their efforts to bring sustainable innovations in mobility solutions to the Indian market at affordable cost. This enterprise is the first to manufacture energy efficient Dual Clutch Transmissions for Indian market, supporting the “Make in India” movement.
TACO Punch Powertrain is responsible for the manufacturing, marketing and sales of the revolutionary compact dual clutch transmission (DT1) in India and to global markets. The company will also carry out a wide range of activities to supply Punch Powertrain’s conventional-hybrid DCTs and EV reducers to customers in India.

Manufacturing Facility
In its mission to serve customers in their local market, TACO Punch Powertrain localized the manufacturing of Punch Powertrain’s proprietary dual clutch transmission in India. Production started in June 2023 at the facility in Chakan, Pune.
