Proton supplier awards 2021 – Punch Powertrain awarded in 2 categories

On January 27th Proton has held its Annual Supplier Conference in the company’s Center of Excellence in its headquarters in Shah Alam. The conference brought together over 700 suppliers, recognizing their efforts by extending awards in 6 categories for serial production and Best Supplier for After Sales and Services. In both regards Punch Powertrain was acknowledged among top positions.

As supplier of Aftermarket and spare parts to Proton Parts Centre Sdn Bhd- Punch Powertrain After Sales & Service Center in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, achieved first place and won ‘Best Supplier Award’. This speaks to the overall operations of the Subang Jaya location, which are tailored to deliver excellence and to anticipate and answer arising customer demands, fast.

The location exclusively provides genuine parts, sourced from the original serial manufacturer to ensure serial level quality. In addition to timely delivery of scheduled orders, the center ensures availability of 100% of parts. This enables the team to cover any arising unexpected need by the customer, ensuring any part can be delivered in matter of days in original quality.

For its supply of serial production transmissions to Proton – Punch Powertrain Nanjing, China, has received the distinction as one of the 4 finalists in category ‘Best Cost Award’. Over the past 10 years the plant has successfully supplied over 600.000 continuously Variable Transmissions (VT2 and VT3) to Proton. In 2021 the team was commended for demonstrating great effort and collaboration spirit with the customer in order to identify and execute cost reduction initiatives. “Cost competitiveness is one of the drivers of our excellence and customer satisfaction and we are delighted by the recognition of our efforts by Proton!” states Thierry Aubry, President APAC and Managing director of Punch Powertrain Nanjing.
