A reinvention of the dual clutch principle, delivering 7 speed automatic performance in a lighter, more compact and more cost effective package than conventional automatics. The range spans the compact segment through to higher torque programmes, from 100 Nm up to 350 Nm.
A unique parallel shifting automatic that unites the best of planetary automatic transmission and dual clutch transmission shifting, while keeping the compact gear structure of a manual transmission. Full automatic performance built for real world driving in cost sensitive applications.
The patented planetary gearset architecture places an additional gearset inside one of the two clutches, engaged between engine and transmission. This lets the unit shift seamlessly across 7 forward ratios using only 4 gear pairs and a single layshaft, keeping it lighter and more compact than conventional full automatics.
Controlled Wet clutch technology delivers consistent thermal performance on inclines and in stop and go traffic. Shift by wire enables fully electronic mode selection with no mechanical linkage, and self healing prevents contamination build up to reduce maintenance. The same core design scales from compact segment applications through to higher torque applications and parallel hybridization.
