On 1 October 2026, Punch Powertrain marked a major milestone in India with the opening of its new office in Balewadi, Pune. Twice the size of the previous office, the new facility will support the company’s engineering, innovation and business activities in India. Mr. Venkatram Mamillapalle, a renowned automotive industry leader and a profound car enthusiast, joined the inauguration as Chief Guest.
The move brings Punch Powertrain’s India R&D, sales and business functions into one collaborative workplace, with capacity for new projects.

Punch Powertrain entered India in 2021 with its R&D centre in Pune, which contributes to innovative products for markets worldwide and adapts Punch technologies to India’s driving conditions, traffic and climate. Punch DCTs have been on Indian roads since 2022.
Punch Powertrain’s CVT, a proven technology with more than 4 million units on the road worldwide, will soon power compact SUVs in India for a leading global OEM.
